Hello,
We are a very successful Research team working together for the past 20years in Primary care at The Staploe Medical Centre. We have a patient population of 31,000and the practice and trials unit are open 6 days per week with room for flexibility when required. We cover every conceivable disease area seen in Primary care and have combined experience of 18 Doctors to fall back on We have been involved in more than 50 studies over the past 5 years at phase 2a , 2b, 111 and 1V.
As PI I have over 22 years of experience as a Doctor and have spent considerable time building and improving the trials unit. Clinical trials has been part of my working life since 1992 and have also acted as Chef Investigator when needed. I believe strongly in the value of research work alongside clinical experience and the value it brings to all. I am currently a member of the Primary Care Clinical Leaders group ,East of England.
My team include 2 Sub PI's 3 part time research nurses and a full time administrator. All of us are ICH/GCP trained with up to date certificates. Our unit has dedicated space which we are hoping to expand in the next 2 years. All of equipment is up to date with calibration, we have 2 dedicated trials fridges, two -20c freezers, centrifuge, ECG, Scales, Bp machines , Spirometer equipment and dedicated temperature controlled IP storage and room for all the files, specialized equipment that comes with the various studies. We have up to date SOP's in place.
We are very much aware of the need to deliver good clean data, recruiting to time and target and the importance of maintaining the patients we have recruited. We often over recruit and have limited screen failures and drop outs. This is all achieved by use of our experience, excellent friendly trials staff, dedication and effort to treat the patients as V.I.P's , our flexibility in visit times, full doctors support and knowledge of their patients, the use of in house clinics, previous participation and an excellent practice and research database. We are highly competitive in our research aims and enjoy aiming for, and achieving , first global/ county patient.
Our trails unit was recently described as outstanding in our recent CQC inspection and we have been described as " an exemplary research unit" by our local East of England CRN
Thank you taking the time to read this. We are open for work please continue supporting this unit so that we can continue supporting Research ..get in touch.
