Focus and Balance Research is located in the heart of San Antonio’s medical community. We are located approximately 8 miles from the San Antonio International Airport (SAT), and just 11.5 miles from our city’s well-known and beautiful Riverwalk.

Focus and Balance Research is a research site in a private practice psychiatry office equipped to conduct outpatient clinical trials with a full-time principal investigator and several sub-investigators, coordinators, laboratory, and regulatory staff whose attention is focused on conducting quality clinical research trials.

Ariel De LLanos, M.D. is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with experience in treating children, adolescents and adult patients affected by psychiatric, medical and neurological disorders.
Dr. De LLanos oversees the operation of clinical trials.

Our physicians personally see every patient, taking the time to cultivate superb physician-patient relationships. Because of our high standard of care, we recruit and retain study participants across the Greater San Antonio Area (population: 1.4 million).

Our site has dedicated areas for the conduct of clinical research which include:
• Pharmacy room (double locked, security alarms, separate A/C, cold drug storage, emergency power, temperature monitoring system)
• Laboratory space with a -70 degree freezer as well as access to dry ice for shipping specimens
• Exam rooms
• Dedicated area for Monitors
• Dedicated space for research source documents and binders
• Internet capabilities
• Patient database with capabilities of searching for qualified participants

Our site has proudly participated in Phase II, Phase II-B, Phase III, Phase III-B, and Phase IV clinical trials in therapeutic areas such as:
• PBA (pseudobulbar affect)
• Schizophrenia
• Generalized Anxiety Disorder
• Major Depressive Disorder in Adolescents
• Migraine related functional impact instrument
• Migraine Prevention

We have an ongoing relationship with Sponsors such as Pfizer, Evidera, Jannsen, Amarex, ICON, Duke Clinical Research Institute, Life Sciences, AMGEN and Forest Research Institute.
