Asheville Medical Research & Education Corporation (AMREC) is a Non-Profit Organization created to advance medical research & educational activities at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.  Our main focus is be a flexible spending mechanism for Veterans Affairs Medical Research & Education.  AMREC's research studies are mainly Pharma Company Studies in multiple disciplines to include, Mental Health, Oncology, Neurology, Urology, Cardiology, Cardio/Thoracic Surgery, Infectious Disease, Pain, Endocrinology and Pulmonary.  We currently have 20 trials underway which include, CSP, home grown, and pharma studies.  40+ providers have PI experience as well as a team of Clinical Research Coordinators with a combined history of coordinating 150+ trials.  Over 44,000 veterans receive care here with outpatient visits exceeding 65,000 and have had 4000 inpatient admissions this year.
